Unlike Mumbai, Pune is not prevented from expanding by the seas so this city is spreading much faster. More and more industries are coming up in this city, especially after software and BPO boom. Pune has always been renowned for its educational institutions, such as IIT in Khadakwasla, Pune, and University of Pune. University of Pune is also identified as uni Pune.

Pune city is comprised of older parts of the city, i.e., Shanivar peth, Guruwar peth, Ganesh peth, Ravivar Peth, Ghorpade peth Somwar Peth, Kasba peth, etc., which are in existence since 1626 AD or so. One more important thing about Pune is the inclusion of modern areas such as Hadapsar, and Kothrud. Pune’s boat club area is supposed to be a prime area where rich people reside. Pune resorts are located in suburban regions like Talegaon, and Garhade.  One of the most famous amongst them is the Amby Valley resort.

There are many tourist places in Pune, because Pune has a rich history dating as far back as 1600s.
