Gangtok Tourist Places

Gangtok or Sikkim Gangtok is one of the hill stations of exceptional charm in Himalaya's eastern parts. Sikkim is one of the most beautiful provinces of India. Gangtok is its capital. The whole province is surrounded by several mountain peaks.

The mountain slopes and roads on them from here offer panoramic view of the surroundings. The place however is more famous for Buddhist temples and caves which have always been awesome. Buddhist monasteries around not only offer some peace and quiet, but also show variation in the architecture and colors from that of surrounding regions.

There are many hotels in Gangtok. The state government has done a lot to encourage Gangtok tourism. However, since this is a hill station and a sacred place, tourists can face difficulty in finding an accommodation to their liking. Prior booking of a room in any hotel in Gangtok of their choice is, however, possible, thanks to the Internet. Many tourists choose to stay for longer here and use gangtok map to customize their itinerary.

Any such plans should, however, be made duly considering gangtok weather, which can be unpredictable. What is certain is that this city receives snow fall in winters. Many booklets are published by the tourism department of this state. These booklets offer a lot of information about Gangtok. The distance between Darjeeling to Gangtok in Sikkim is merely 97 kms. So many people travel between these two hill stations in cabs.
