There is a observatory at the top of Doddabetta peak with telescope run by Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation. A panoramic site of the plains of Mysore, the valley down and the plains of Coimbatore are visible from this point. On a very clear day, the peak gives an awesome view of the distant plains. Trekking arrangements are also made for those tourists who are interested in trekking near the Peak. The restaurant run by TTDC at the observatory, gives the tourists a place to rest and enjoy the view outside. The Doddatebba Resort which is near the junction is the most tranquil location to stay at if you are visiting this place.
