Council Petrochemical Industry in India

The chemical and petrochemical industries are among the oldest industries that emerged in India. The main products of these industries are alcohol based chemicals and petrochemicals and it has grown at an unimaginable rate over the past decade.

Fertilizer and pesticide consumption is low in our country though they played a significant role in the Green Revolution that took place during 1960's.

But there has been a significant growth in the export of petrochemicals in the past five years and this has turned out to be a boosting factor of Indian economy.

USA, UK, Spain, South Africa and Belgium are some of the countries who import petro and agro chemicals from India. The council for petrochemical industries has an upper hand over the operation of these industries and it promotes research in finding alternative and environment friendly pesticides using Neem seeds.

Though the demand for petrochemical products in India is low the council is trying to enhance the demand through quality produce of petrochemical industries.
