Mysore is the second largest city in the state of Karnataka in India. It is located at the base of Chamundi hills, to the south east of Bangalore. Hinduism is the major religion here. Until 1947, Mysore served as the capital of Kingdom of Mysore. The cultural ambience and achievements of Mysore has earned it the title "Cultural Capital of Karnataka". It is also called as The city of Palaces.
