Bhopal is the capital of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is also the administrative head quarters of Bhopal District and division. Bhopal India is also called as the City of Lakes as it has numerous artificial lakes and is also the greenest city of India Bhopal mp attracted attention at the international level after the occurrence of Bhopal tragedy or disaster. Bhopal gas tragedy is a gas leak incident at a pesticide plant in Bhopal that occurred on 2nd December 1984. Many thousands of people were exposed to harmful methyl isocyanate gas that leaked from the plant. Estimates vary on the death toll.

The official immediate death toll was 2,259 and the government confirmed another 8000 deaths.

Other estimates include 8000 died within two weeks of the incident and another 8000 died from gas related diseases. The government affidavit stated 558,125 injuries out of which 38,478 with temporary and about 3900 with permanent disability.

The elevation feature about Bhopal is that it enjoys an average elevation of 500m.
